The Place where you actually RP

1) You MUST read the rules
2) You MUST use your own made-up OC/character(s)

*= If the other character's player agrees with any of these things when you ASK FOR PERMISSION, you may do them.

Basilpaw jumped up and down excitedly. She loved going hunting! She loved bringing back food for the clan, and stuff like that! Plus, it was fun pouncing on birds and stuff. Yewpaw was sitting beside her with his head ducked and tail curled around his paws.
"Oh, c'mon, Yewpaw, lighten up!" Basilpaw mewed.
Yewpaw just shrugged.
Basilpaw purred when her mentor showed up.
"Hey, Basilpaw, Yewpaw," he meowed. Thistletail was still a relatively young warrior, so he was still fun unlike Yewpaw's mentor, stuffy old Leopardbreeze, who was all business. No wonder Basilpaw's brother was so down in the dumps all he time.
"Thisletail, can we see if Ashpaw and Bayleaf want to hunt with us?"
Thistletail smiled, and excited light in his eyes. "Good idea! Why don't you go find Bayleaf and ask her for me?"
Basilpaw dashed off to find them.

Bayleaf and Ashpaw were just about to go hunting when Basilpaw ran up to them.
"Hi Ashpaw! Hi Bayleaf! Do you guys want to go hunting with Thistletail, Yewpaw and me?" She was bouncing with excitement.
Bayleaf nodded. "Sure, we'd love to!"
Ashpaw grinned. "I'll gonna catch a vole!"

Basilpaw laughed. "You're obsessed!"
Basilpaw raced over to her brother and mentor, excited to go out. Maybe they would get to climb Eagle Rock, the largest boulder in the forest, while they were out!

As if she had read Basilpaw's mind , Bayleaf suggested, "Let's try hunting near Eagle Rock! Prey go there to sun themselves, and it's a hot day."

Basilpaw frowned. "I thought only snakes sun themselves?"
But Thistletail was nodding. "It'll be good practice for if a snake gets into the camp. Let's go!" He bounded off toward the camp entrance with his tail held high. Basilpaw could've sworn he was purring. She ran off after him, and Yewpaw followed her. Once outside, Yewpaw winced.
"What's wrong?" Basilpaw asked.
"I think I stepped on something..." he mewled, looking up at Thistletail. Thistletail sighed. "Go on to the medicine cat. They'll fix you up."
Yewpaw limped off, passing Ashpaw and Bayleaf on their way out.
Basilpaw frowned at her calico mentor. "You KNOW he was faking it!" she hissed. "He always finds some excuse to get out of training! He'll NEVER be a warrior!"
Thistletail sighed. "I know. But I have to let him go back sometimes, because....you know that Leopardbreeze hates me!"
Basilpaw nodded. Thistletail had been the son of a rogue who stopped in for the night with her kitten. The rogue had left, but not without leaving her son in the care of a queen in the clan. Leopardbreeze had always felt a deep mistrust for the cat, even when he proved himself a true clan warrior when their camp was attacked by several foxes.
Basilpaw sighed. "Just make sure he comes next time."
And then they were on the move again.

Ashpaw noticed Basilpaw and Thistletail muttering about something, but didn't ask about it. The expression on Basilpaw's face told him all he needed to know. It was probably about Yewpaw.
There was always something about Yewpaw, although Ashpaw wasn't sure exactly what. He didn't like hunting or battle training...in fact, Ashpaw couldn't think of anything Yewpaw liked.
Suddenly, the leafy ferns in front of him quivered, as if something was inside them. Ashpaw licked his lips. What if it was a vole? He loved voles. They were sooooooooooo good...

Basilpaw crouched down as soon as she heard the rustling. Wait...did Ashpaw want to catch it?
Basilpaw silently stepped back to let Ashpaw catch it.

Ashpaw snapped back to reality and concentrated on the prey in front of him. He stalked slowly toward the ferns, placing each paw lightly before him. He was close now, so he got ready to pounce.

His prey didn't notice anything until sharp fangs sank into its neck.

Ashpaw had caught his prey successfully, but he was disappointed. It was a squirrel.

Basilpaw was laughing hysterically at Ashpaw's crestfallen look at the squirrel, and could barely be silenced by a look from her mentor.
"You don't want to scare all the prey away, do you?" he meowed.
Basilpaw shook her head, still unable to talk.
"Ashpaw, bury the squirrel, and we'll come back to it."

Ashpaw nodded, slightly depressed. As he buried the squirrel, he couldn't help wishing the squirrel was a vole. It didn't help that Basilpaw was laughing hysterically either...

Basilpaw craned her neck and looked ahead. They had been running for about five minutes by now, and she thought she could see Eagle Rock.
"There it is!" she mewed, barely hiding the excitement in her voice.

Ashpaw could see it too, and his spirits immediately perked up. No one could stay depressed near Eagle Rock...except...maybe Yewpaw.

Yewpaw's paw didn't hurt. Not really. He just didn't want to go hunting. Eagle Rock made him sad. he didn't know why. It just did.
Heading toward the apprentice den, Leopardbreeze stopped him.
"Yewpaw, why aren't you hunting?"
"Oh, I didn't feel real well, but not bad enough to go to the medicine cat. I didn't get a very good night's sleep last night so I just wanted to go lie down for a bit." It wasn't a lie, the black tabby had just stretched the truth a bit, right? Everything was true except for the bad night's sleep last night.

Ashpaw was excited. Maybe he'd catch a vole! And not a squirrel! And maybe he would finally beat Basilpaw to the top of Eagle Rock!!! Eh...probably not possible, but he wanted to try!
"Hey Basilpaw. Wanna race to the top?"

Basilpaw nodded.
"It is ON...Thistletail, would you count off for us?"
Thistletail nodded. "Three, two, one, GO!"
Basilpaw leapt forward, eyes on the top of the rock. She HAD to win this. THe last race she was in, she had lost. But maybe, since she had been to Eagle Rock a couple more times than Ashpaw, as she was the older apprentice, maybe she would have the upper paw...

She did. Ashpaw stumbled on a rock that jutted out and did a face-plant into a shrub. It was kind of sad. Basilpaw reached the top just as Ashpaw bounced out of the shrub, fur tangled but with a lopsided grin on his face.
"That was fun! You should try it Basilpaw!"

Basilpaw considered. "Maybe later."
Thistletail (who had just caught up) frowned at them. "Do you want to scare all the prey away? WHen you said race, I thought you meant a normal race, not that clomping around loudly you did."
Basilpaw hung her head. This wasn't fair. He had said it was okay!

Ashpaw frowned. "Butisn;t that what a normal race is?"
Bayleaf caught up just in time to hear the last bits of their converstaion. She sighd. Ashpaw wasso clueless sometimes...

"Well, MAYBE it WAS a normal race, and you just have over sensitive ears!" Basilpaw felt herself bristling. "Why can't you just accept what you said earlier?"
She didn't know why, but she was getting really, REALLY upset. So upset, in fact, that she ran away. She thought that maybe someone was following her, but she wasn't sure. She kept running until her paws ached and she didn't quite know where she was. She began to jog, just wanting to get away. She turned left at a giant oak tree on the bank of a stream, and ran straight into a fox.
"Help!" she yowled, even though she didn't know if anyone could hear her. "A fox! Help me!"

Ashpaw thought he heard Basilpaw yelling something that sounded like,"Heggh! Ah fogh! Heggh meh!" Maybe Basilpaw had found a vole! And she wanted help catching it! Yeah,that sounded right. And since it sounded so harmless, he didn't have to tell anyone else, right? So he ran off toward the sound of Basilpaw's voice.

He didn't even consider the fact that if Basilpaw found a vole, she wouldn't be yelling...

Basilpaw pressed her ears against her head and hissed loudly, baring her teeth and holding her claws out in front of her defensively. The fox snarled back and took a step forward. Basilpaw slashed it's nose. The fox yelped, and took a stp back, now madder than before.

Suddenly, Ashpaw came barreling toward them, yelling, "WHERE"S THE VOLE?!" at the top of his lungs. The fox, startled, hesitated for a moment, leaving it wide open for attack.

Basilpaw used this moment of the fox's uncertainty and launched herself at it, slashing her claws across it's nose and chin. The fox yelped. Basilpaw clamped her teeth across it's leg.

Ashpaw blinked.It was a...fox? He sighed, then launched himself at the fox. He slammed into the fox's side, and dug his sharp claws into the skin. The fox yelped, and tried to shake him off, while trying to claw Basilpaw at the same time.
